Tactical Urbanism Workshop, April 11
From Propel Atlanta:
We are hosting a Tactical Urbanism Workshop to help communities lead and implement design changes on their neighborhood streets through the city's design process.
Tactical Urbanism is an approach to neighborhood building and activation using short-term, low-cost, and scalable designs to change streets and public spaces.
If your neighborhood has ideas to better the design of your community, gather some of your neighbors and attend April's Community Advocates Network meeting. The Director of Mobility Planning for the City of Atlanta, Betty Smoot-Madison, and Chris McIntosh, Urban Designer, Office of Design, Public Space Studio, will be with us.
We will break out into small groups to workshop your ideas and learn what's needed to bring your project to life.
Check out the City of Atlanta Tactical Urbanism Guide for the requirements and processes to implement a project in your community.

More MARTA Public Updates in April
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and City of Atlanta will host three public updates to share information and take questions and comments about the More MARTA Program. Two in-person updates will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, and Thursday, April 20, 2023. A virtual update will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19.
These updates will provide information about the past, present, and future of the More MARTA program, which was passed in 2016 by 71% of voters to fund MARTA improvements and expansion in the City of Atlanta.
Most recently, City and MARTA leadership have worked together on updating the sequencing plan of projects to deliver a first tier of projects through the year 2028. These projects include Summerhill Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Campbellton BRT, the Five Points Transformation, Streetcar East Extension, and more. A second tier would be initiated in the future as more funding becomes available.
All three meetings will have the same content. The in-person meetings are convenient to MARTA service and light refreshments will be served.
MARTA welcomes all Atlanta residents, taxpayers, customers, and other stakeholders to attend and learn more about how the More MARTA program will bring more prosperity, more connectivity, and more equity to our ridership and communities.
