Community Take Back Rally - Saturday August 23 - Noon - 1:00pm

Greeting everyone,

The  Community Take Back Rally in Oakland City will resume this
Date: Saturday, August 23.  
Marchers will gather in front of
Location: Finch Elementary, 1114 Avon Avenue, Atlanta, GA
Time: 12:00PM
and walk through the Bush Mountain community.
Light refreshments will be provided.

The Community Oriented Policing Section (COPS) unit is reporting a positive change in crime due to community involvement and work the COPS unit officers are doing in troubled areas in Oakland City. 

Our faithful Ar-Rahman Islamic Center supporters (1631 Westhaven Drive, SW, Atlanta) have expressed an interest in holding rallies each Saturday throughout NPU-S communities as the weather permits.  We thank them so much for their support in helping make the NPU-S communities  a better place for us all.

King of Pops at Rev. James Orange Park, Sunday, Aug. 17th 2-4pm

Greetings Friends of RJOP.

Thanks to those of you who came out last Thursday to help the Parks Dept. determine what equipment should be included in our new playground.  Parks and Recreation representatives said that the playground, splash pad, pool and pool house should be completed by May 31, 2015.

Coming a lot sooner, this  

Sunday, Aug. 17th
Time:  2-4pm
 Park Pride will bring King of Pops to our park.  In addition, Friends RJOP will supply other snacks.  We will have games and face painting as well as voter registration.  Please come out and bring some children.  Consider volunteering (1pm-4pm) to help organize and set up games.

Finally, thanks to Oakland City Community Organization, Cathedral of Faith, St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church and Wiliam M. Finch Elementary PTA for a great back to school event on August 2nd.  In addition to school supplies children were treated to hot dogs, snacks and a DJ.  Oakland City has some great dancers!
