ARC Receives $6.1M Federal Grant to Install EV Charging Ports in Metro Atlanta

The grant, grant from the federal Department of Transportation to install 300-400 electric vehicle charging ports across the 20-county Atlanta region. The program will focus on communities where EV charging is scarce to support equity in the region's EV transition.

ARC & Goodwill Team Up to Provide Training for EV Tech Jobs

The two organizations are joining forces to offer state-of-the-industry training for metro Atlanta residents to become EV charging port technicians, thanks to a 5-year, $2 million federal grant. The high-demand jobs pay an average of $30 an hour.

City of Atlanta, Atlanta Regional Commission to Launch Equity Focused E-Bike Rebate Program

City of Atlanta residents will be eligible to apply for a rebate of $500 to $2,000 toward the purchase of an e-bike. The goal: providing affordable transportation options for moderate and low-income individuals, reducing congestion, and improving air quality.

Yard Trimmings NOT Collected. Due to staffing shortages, yard trimmings will be collected every other week until further notice. This week, yard trimmings WILL NOT be collected.

Trash and recycling are collected weekly as usual.
Wed Feb 7, 6:15pm. NPU-S Land Use Committee meeting. This committee makes recommendations to the NPU about:
1. all matters related to the development of residential, commercial, and other large-scale development projects;
2. all matters related to zoning, economic development, business expansion and retention, and urban design;
3. all matters related to traffic and transportation planning;
4. and all matters related to enforcement of City Codes.

Save the date and check out the details! After last year's resounding success, Propel ATL's Transportation Roundtable returns for a second year on Tuesday, February 20 from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at Switchyards Downtown Club.

The Transportation Roundtable, put on by our Community Advocates Network, is a unique opportunity that brings City of Atlanta policymakers and community members together to discuss actionable goals regarding transportation in Atlanta.

The format: a combination of 2-3 minute presentations and a moderated Q&A session addressing pre-submitted and live audience questions

Code enforcement is a powerful and often overlooked system capable of not only fixing issues on problem properties, but also strengthening neighborhoods. Many local governments dealing with a lot of vacant, abandoned, and deteriorated properties are finding traditional code enforcement—focused on issuing citations and collecting fines—isn't working. A more strategic approach focused on compliance could change that.

This webinar will unveil a new resource, Reevaluating Code Enforcement: A New Approach to Addressing Problem Properties, in which Community Progress details steps local governments can take towards a more equitable, efficient, and effective code enforcement system. It will also highlight steps one major city—Cincinnati—has taken toward adopting this approach.
