NPU-S June Meeting Planning Session: Wed 5/29 at 7pm

Hello Neighbors!

Since covid, our NPU meetings have been virtual but earlier this year the body voted to have one in person meeting once a quarter! This June will be our first in person meeting since that vote and we are looking for community members to help us pull this together!

This June meeting, we want to focus on those in the community who are a part of the “Digital Divide.” These are community members who cannot or choose not to participate in the virtual meetings and we are looking for ideas, feedback and help on what we need to make this meeting a success. I am asking that you please join us for a virtual meeting on May 29th at 7pm to discuss and plan.

Our NPU is only as strong as the community so please do your part to make sure we are all represented! I look forward to our planning!

Ford Atlanta Mobility Challenge - Proposal Deadline May 19

Greetings,

The deadline is approaching to submit proposals for the Ford Urbanite Atlanta Mobility Challenge. Proposals are due May 19, 2024 at 11:59 pm.

The Urbanite Mobility Challenge in Atlanta, a collaboration led by Ford, AT&T, Delta Air Lines, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, and Novelis with the support of the Partnership for Southern Equity as local anchor, is an opportunity for local and national entrepreneurs to propose equitable mobility solutions for pilot grant funding– up to $150,000 – to be piloted in the metropolitan Atlanta area in 2024, further accelerating the region as a mobility innovation testbed and fostering a just transition to equitable mobility that is crucial to the economic, social and environmental well-being of all Atlanta residents.

Safe and accessible mobility is a necessity for creating economic opportunity, especially in a metro region where affordable housing and job centers are disconnected. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in Atlanta's mobility landscape. If you have a creative and impactful solution to address transportation challenges in our city, we encourage you to submit your proposal by clicking the link below:

https://psequity.org/urbanitechallenge/

We look forward to receiving your innovative ideas!

Join ANDP for the 10th Anniversary of Neighbors Together! | June 1, 2024 | 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

People with lower incomes are often uninsured, and minority groups account for over half of the uninsured population. Health equity is the state in which everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health. Achieving this requires ongoing societal efforts to:

  • Address historical and contemporary injustices;
  • Overcome economic, social, and other obstacles to health and health care; and
  • Eliminate preventable health disparities.

To achieve health equity, we must change the systems and policies that have resulted in the generational injustices that give rise to racial and ethnic health disparities.

As we celebrate NeighborWorks Week 2024, ANDP's community leadership initiative, Neighbors Together, is pleased to join forces with Out of Hand Theater for a special performance from Thriving Together Atlanta.

Thriving Together Atlanta was awarded a $1 million Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge grant and is a collaboration between the City of Atlanta Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, the CDC Foundation, the National Black Arts Festival, and Out of Hand Theater.

In keeping with our Neighbors Together tradition, all attendees will be eligible for a drawing for a free iPad and two $200 Home Depot gift cards!

Join us as we work together to create a healthier, more equitable future for everyone! The event is free, and lunch is provided. Register now using the link below.
