NPU-S General Meeting *this* Thursday, June 20, 7pm

This Thursday the 20th will be our NPU General Meeting for June 2019, held, as always, on the third Thursday of each month.

At this meeting there will be two presentations, two voting items, and the introduction of a new community association!

And, of course, reports from the police, code enforcement, public works, and many more!

  • Wednesday, June 5 - R.E.V.I.V.E. Expo - Georgia World Congress Center (285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW). The purpose of the R.E.V.I.V.E Business Expo is to educate prime, minority, female and small businesses on how to do business with the City of Atlanta and to inform the vendor community of future contracting opportunities as it relates to various agencies' procurements.   • Wednesday, June 5 - NPU-R Meeting - 7pm, Adams Park Recreation Center (1620 Delowe Dr). Covers the neighborhoods of Adams Park, Campbellton Road, Fort Valley, Greenbriar, Laurens Valley, Pamona Park, and Southwest.
  • Saturday, June 8 - Fight Against Blight Educational Symposium and Scrap Tire Drive - C.T. Martin Recreation Center (3201 MLK Jr Dr).  Symposium will focus on educating communities on how to identify city of Atlanta Code violations and how to assist city departments in effectively combating blight.  The discussions will include the affect blight has on our community as well as how neighborhoods are transforming vacancy and abandonment to viable productive properties. Free Notary Training - June 14

In cooperation with the Georgia Superior Court Clerk's Cooperative Authority, Free Notary training is open to Fulton County notaries and prospective notaries. The training will cover new practices, rules and laws surrounding the Georgia notary.

The free training will take place on Friday, June 14, 2019, from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Fulton County Government Center (141 Pryor Street) in Assembly Hall.

Just Opportunity Summit, June 20-21

The Just Opportunity Summit is a day-long conference held by the Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE) on June 21, 2019 - launching with a reception on June 20, 2019 at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA.

This summit is co-hosted by PSE’s Just Opportunity Circle, a group of 34 key regional economic development leaders who are working together to advance sustainable solutions for equitable economic opportunities for all in four key areas throughout the Atlanta region: distribution of public investments, wealth building, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Summit session topics include: leveraging and mitigating the impact of Opportunity Zones and public investments, effective financial mobility strategies, policy supports for working families, access to capital for entrepreneurs of color, and preparing our youth for Atlanta’s changing economic landscape.

Attendees will also be able to participate in critical discussions and make new connections with hundreds of other decision-makers, experts and advocates.
