Intro to Gardening Sessions at Metropolitan Library



The Atlanta/Fulton County Library System, UGA Cooperative Extension, Central Fulton Master Gardeners, and South Fulton Master Gardeners are hosting three "Intro to Gardening" sessions. Sessions schedule: July 23 at 1:30pm, July 26 at 6:30pm, and July 27 at 10:30am. All sessions are at Metropolitan Library – 1332 Metropolitan Pkwy SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.

NPU Best Practices

The Atlanta Planning Advisory Board (APAB), in conjunction with the Department of City Planning, is working on a set of "Best Practices" for Neighborhood Planning Units such as ours. A draft copy of the recommended best practices can be found our website at

NPU-S Meeting Thursday, July 21 - Hybrid!

This Thursday the 21st will be our NPU General Meeting for July 2022, held, as always, on the third Thursday of the month, 7pm to 9pm.

This is a HYBRID meeting! We will be meeting both in person and online.

Black Census Survey


STAND-UP
is partnering with Black Youth Vote, an organization that educates Black youth about their voice through voting and supporting grassroots organizers.

Together, they're working on the Black Census Project, surveying young Black folks on the most pressing issues in the Black community and how we can solve them together.

No personal information will be shared with anyone, but the survey data will be sent to community organizations and leaders to brainstorm sustainable and equitable solutions.

It only takes a couple of minutes to let your voice be heard.

MARTA Job Fair July 7


MARTA will hold a job fair for bus operators and journeyman bus technicians on Thursday, July 7, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at MARTA headquarters, located across from the Lindbergh Center rail station on Piedmont Road in Atlanta. MARTA is offering a $3,000 sign on bonus and will train all Permit and Class C (regular) license holders for their Commercial Driver's License (CDL). See CDL requirements here.

WHAT:           Bus Operator and Journeyman Bus Technician Job Fair
  • Pay starting at $17.74/hr. for operators and $23.91/hr. for technicians
  • MARTA will train all Permit and Class C (regular) license holders for their CDL

Applicants are encouraged to ride MARTA to the event. The job fair will be held at MARTA headquarters, which is located across the street from Lindbergh Center Station. Free parking is also available in the nearby MARTA parking deck.
