Volunteers Needed: Read Across America on March 2

From Oakland City Community Organization:
📚 Read Across America - Oakland City Community Organization & Cathedral of Faith are partnering with Finch Elementary School for National Read Across America Day on Wednesday, March 2.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to virtually read to the classrooms.

The event time is 9am-12pm.

We are also excited to have a Reading Parade as students arrive at school from 7am-8am. Come out early and help cheer on students as we share our love of reading. The whole community is invited to be involved in this parade.

From the organizers:
This will be a basic 5K run or walk. We will have registration and the starting line at the Westend beltline entrance behind Wild Heaven brewery. The 5k runners/walkers will go halfway down the trail on the Westend Beltline to and then turn around at Gordon White Park. All participants will have raise $500 each and the money goes toward projects around the world that help develop, prevent, rescue, and restore those areas vulnerable to human trafficking. No street closures involved.
