Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Most of Affected Area

The City of Atlanta is lifting the boil water advisory throughout most of the advisory area, with the exception of the Hutcheson Ferry Road zone:

Boil Water Advisory Still in Effect for Sections of SW Atlanta, South Fulton

From the Department of Watershed Management:

Following a temporary loss of pressure last evening, a Boil Water Advisory was issued out of an abundance of caution for residents and property owners in the City of South Fulton, Union City and the City of Fairburn as well as a portion of southwest Atlanta along Cascade Road SW and Benjamin E. Mays Dr. SW between Avon Avenue SW and Fairburn Rd SW. Water pumping was restored by 8:30 pm and teams’ sampling of the impacted areas was completed overnight. The first set of lab results are expected late this evening.

While the system has returned to normal operations, those in the impacted area should continue to boil their water or use bottled water until the boil water advisory is lifted. If you experienced a low water pressure or a loss of water at your address, but your address is not within the area described, the City recommends you follow the precautionary measures.

Learn about how code enforcement works, discover your role in it, fight blight, and become a community ambassador!

The Code Enforcement Commission partners to implement a Code Enforcement Training Academy to empower City of Atlanta residents with knowledge surrounding code enforcement and the law through various departments. The City of Atlanta Code Enforcement Academy Training program will provide participants with knowledge of core job functions through classroom instruction and educate members of the community on departmental structure, premise violations, substandard structures, 3-1-1 overview and community partnerships.
