NPU-S General Meeting Thursday, June 15, 7pm-9pm HYBRID

This Thursday, the 15th, will be our NPU General Meeting for June 2023, held, as always, on the third Thursday of the month, 7pm to 9pm.

This is a HYBRID meeting. We will be meeting both in person and online.

This month we'll have four voting items - three zoning ordinances having to do with the Beltline, and a special event:

• Z-23-22 An Ordinance to amend Part III Code of Ordinances – Land Development Code, Part 16 –Zoning, Chapter 36 “Beltline Overlay and District Regulations”, Section 16-36.020 Off-Street Parking and Loading Requirements so as to require no minimum amount of parking; and for other purposes. 
• Z-23-23 An Ordinance to amend Part III Code of Ordinances – Land Development Code, Part 16 – Zoning, Chapter 36 “Beltline Overlay and District Regulations”, Section 16-36.008 Permitted and Prohibited Uses and Structures to prohibit the addition of new drive-through and drive-in facilities within the Beltline Overlay District
• Z-23-24 An Ordinance to amend Part III Code of Ordinances – Land Development Code, art 16 – Zoning, Chapter 36 “Beltline Overlay and District Regulations”, Section 16-36.008 Permitted and Prohibited Uses and Structures to prohibit the addition of new service stations within the beltline overlay district
• SolArt: WAWA's Inaugural Festival - 1442 Richland Road, August 25-26

Neighborhood Empowerment Workshop - June 24. 9am-3pm

NEIGHBORHOOD EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP Saturday, June 24, 2023 9:00 am - 3:00 pm | In-Person This six-hour training will be conducted in partnership with Georgia Stand Up and the Partnership for Southern Equity to make participants more knowledgeable, confident, and effective as leaders of their neighborhoods. Pre-Register Students will be drilled in the mechanics of local governance, strategies for initiating and advancing legislation, and other instruction designed to make participants experts in getting things done in your neighborhood. This is especially important for those neighborhoods undergoing revitalization. Pre-Register We have only 25 seats, so hurry and secure your spot now!

NPU University: CL 1005 - Bylaws Clinic

CL 1005 BYLAWS CLINIC The initial part of this course is tailored for NPU leaders and NPU Bylaws Committee members. It provides an overview to the requirements of the Code of Ordinances regarding NPU bylaws. Students will learn how to develop bylaws that accurately represent the unique nature of their respective NPU and promote integrity, transparency, and community engagement throughout the amendment and voting procedures. In the latter half of the course, participants will have the opportunity to examine and engage in discussions about proposed amendments to their own bylaws.
