APD will have our 2nd Teen Citizen's Police Academy summer camp again. The APD TEEN Citizen's Academy educates our young people in the operations and practices of your Atlanta Police Department. The program allows City of Atlanta High School youths to get an inside look at law enforcement.
The Teen Academy will be offered Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm, June 10-14, 2024 with instruction being delivered both in class at Public Safety HQ and on field trips.
Each teen must write a brief paragraph on why they want to participate.

Check out Georgia DOT's Weekend ReportMETRO ATLANTA -- The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) continues to improve highway infrastructure throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area. As a result, work on construction and maintenance projects will continue this weekend.
To assist in avoiding major delays in your travels, GDOT created a webpage dedicated to weekend lane closures throughout Metro Atlanta.
The public can now view all scheduled weekend lane closures at http://www.dot.ga.gov/ds/metrolaneclosures. Lane closure information can be accessed by selecting the desired option within the search filter and clicking the submit button. The search filter will sort information by traffic impact level, county, interstate or state route.
The weekend lane closure schedule will be posted on a weekly basis and will be accessible from 4:00 p.m., Thursday until 10 a.m., Monday.
As always, for information about travel conditions on Georgia's interstates and state routes, call 511 before getting on the road.
