The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America's #1 conservation service organization, seeks qualified crew members and field leaders to join the Black Women's Conservation Crew in Atlanta.
The Black Women's Conservation Crew in Atlanta is for Black members who self-identify as women. This crew is a safe space for women of color to learn, grow and gain new technical skills. Crew members will work on service projects, including invasive species removal, habitat restoration, litter abatement and trail work at various locations throughout local National Park Service sites in
the Metro Atlanta area.

These listening sessions are part of a larger effort to engage with members of the community to understand the successes and challenges regarding homelessness and housing throughout the City. The feedback gathered in these sessions will be combined with feedback from other sessions with the business community, local government, and citizens in general to help create the next five year strategic plan for ending homelessness in the City of Atlanta. Vacant, Abandoned, and Deteriorated Property Training

Announcing the 2023 VAD Academy! June 21–⁠22, 2023 | Online The VAD Academy is a free, one-of-a-kind virtual training for public, private, nonprofit, and community leaders whose work and communities are impacted by challenges related to vacant, abandoned, and deteriorated (or "VAD") properties. Register Today Who should attend VAD Academy? VAD Academy is designed for government, nonprofit, and private sector professionals and community partners who aim to equitably address problem properties. If you work primarily in one issue area (such as code enforcement) and want to better understand how your day-to-day intersects with other areas of work, this is a great opportunity for you.   Past participants have included urban planners, city attorneys, elected officials, community development corporation staff, land bank leaders, academics, code enforcement officials, neighborhood association leaders, developers, lending institutions, and more. Whether you work with urban, suburban, or rural communities, the curriculum will help you combat widespread abandonment and neighborhood decline.  What will I learn at VAD Academy?  Community development experts will guide participants through critical topics related to property revitalization. These topic areas include: Impact of VAD Properties  Strategic Code Enforcement Property Tax Management Land Banks and Land Banking Vacant Land Stewardship Equitable Revitalization Day One (June 21) will offer 101-level courses, introducing participants to the root causes of property vacancy and abandonment and the foundations of property revitalization. These 101-level courses will answer questions such as "What is equitable, effective, and efficient code enforcement?" and "What is a land bank and is it the right tool for my community?"   Day Two (June 22) will dive deeper into property revitalization work and share examples of each topic from the field. These sessions will feature panels with practitioners and offer a 201-level discussion for intermediate or advanced participants. Code Enforcement Academy

CODE ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY  NPU University is excited to offer The Code Enforcement Training Academy. This academy was developed working directly with code enforcement officers, City departments, public officials, and community leaders and to create tactics that addressed blight in the City. The mission of the academy is to increase skills, coordination, and collaboration at the community level with the City departments and partners that work to address code violations. Instructors include representatives from the APD Code Enforcement Unit, Dept. of Public Works SWEET Team, the Office of Buildings' Zoning Code Enforcement Unit, Watershed, and the Courts.
