Citizens Police Academy

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our impactful Zone 4 town hall meeting this past Wednesday night. Your presence and valuable feedback truly make a difference.

Now, I'm thrilled to announce that applications are open for Class #46 of the Atlanta Police Citizen's Police Academy. This immersive program offers a unique opportunity for City of Atlanta residents and those who work within the city, aged 21 and above, to gain an insider's perspective on law enforcement.

From May 14 to July 2, 2024, every Tuesday evening, participants will delve into the inner workings of the Atlanta Police Department. From visiting our 911 center to exploring various departmental units, you'll gain firsthand knowledge of police operations.

Our mission is clear: to educate Atlanta citizens about the practices and operations of their police department. By fostering a deeper understanding, we aim to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community we serve.

Throughout the Academy's 24 hours of professional instruction, delivered in both classroom and offsite settings, participants will have the opportunity to engage with officers and provide invaluable feedback. Your insights are essential in shaping improved police-community relations.

Commitment-wise, we ask for just one evening per week (Tuesdays) over the course of 8 weeks, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. And here's the best part—it's completely free of charge.

Please, if you cannot attend, share this opportunity with your different networks. My goal is to have Zone 4 well represented in this transformative experience.

Don't miss this chance to be part of a transformative experience. Apply now and embark on a journey toward a safer, more connected Atlanta
