Applications Being Accepted: Fulton County Junior Deputy Programs


No fewer than three "Junior Deputy" programs from Fulton County:

Marshals Department:
The Fulton County Marshals Department is accepting applications for the 2019 Junior Deputy Program which runs from July 8-12, 2019. Among the things this unique program assists with are learning life skills, developing mutual understanding, and enhancing their personal and mental fitness.

Students ages 12 through 16 are eligible to apply if they attend a school in Fulton County, are a resident of Fulton County, or have a family member that is an employee of Fulton County. They must be of good moral character with no arrests or convictions and are required to submit an essay. Applications are due May 25, 2019.

Sheriff's Office:
Registration is open for the 2019 Summer Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Junior Deputies program. The program this summer will be from Monday, June 17 – Friday, June 21. All applicants must be between the ages of 12-16 years old, submit an essay, have a connection to Fulton County, and pay a $50 fee. Deadline to apply is Friday, May 24, 2019.

Court Clerks:
The dates for the 2019 Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Court Junior Deputy Clerk Summer Internship Program are June 17 – July 29, 2019

This is an unpaid internship intended to expose high school students to a career in local government. Students can use the experience to get hands-on work, interviewing, career development and other skills to prepare them for college and the workforce while earning community service hours required for high school graduation and scholarships.

The program is open to rising 10th through 12th grade students who are available for the duration of the 4-week program, able to work between 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and able to provide their own transportation to downtown Atlanta.
